Saving Files When Graduating/Leaving GCPS -
Your GCPS cloud accounts and files (Google Drive, Microsoft 365/OneDrive, Adobe Creative Cloud) will be deleted once you are no longer a GCPS student. You will need to save your files before you graduate if there is anything you want to keep. There is no way to recover your files once you are no longer a student. Here is the LINK for instructions on how to keep your files.
Chromebook Return
Your schedule with final exams and AP exams will determine when you should plan to return your Chromebook. Please look at the following attachment for the schedule options for return. Be sure to return your Chromebook and charger to ensure you do not have a fee that will block you from getting your diploma.
Textbook, Library Book, and Equipment Return
Check your FEES tab in StudentVue to make sure you know what books or equipment you need to return or if you have fines. Return textbooks to your teacher, library books to the CLC, and any other equipment on the list to the coach or sponsor who gave it to you. Additional fees or equipment may also be added from sports and arts programs as programs finish this month.
Recent FAQs about Graduation
-
Is there handicapped parking and wheelchair access at Gas South Arena? Yes, they are both first come, first serve. Handicapped parking is near the main entrance on the right of the grassy area. Wheelchair access seating is at the top of each entry door into the Arena.
-
Can we get more than 10 tickets for Graduation? Each senior will receive 10 tickets at Graduation practice on May 19th. Following practice students can stand in line to get one ticket at a time as long as our extras last.
-
Will there be a live stream for family and friends who cannot attend in person? YES, we will post that link from Gas South Arena as soon as they share it.
-
What is the student dress code for Graduation? I would call is business casual or summer party... shirt and slacks, ties are not required but look great under the gown, nice dress or slacks and a blouse. There is not a specific color requirement, but gowns must be zipped up. The most critical choice you make is going to be YOUR SHOES - as you enter from the parking lot you will go up one flight of cement stairs and then down TWO flights of cement stairs to get to the floor of the Arena. DO NOT choose super high shoes that you cannot walk distances in or that you have not practiced walking in.
-
Can we decorate our cap? NO, there are no decorations on your cap.
-
Can we wear regalia (cords, stoles, etc.) that we get from a non-North organization? NO, only regalia that you get at honors night or another NGHS organization event can be worn at graduation.
-
How do Senior Letters work? North Gwinnett does not manage Senior Letter distribution. If you choose to do that gift for your senior, it is a family project.
-
What if something is wrong with my Cap and Gown? If the size is wrong (should hit mid-calf) or you are missing a tassel, please email Mrs. Baker. If you have not yet picked up your Cap and Gown, please see Mrs. Dannelly in office 600. Please remember DO NOT IRON your gown, hang it up now - if the wrinkles do not fall out, then hang it in the bathroom while you have a hot shower running to steam.
OPTIONAL PRODUCTS:
Yard Signs: View the flyer on the Senior Class website to order yard signs from Postal Plus. Your purchase will benefit our DECA club.

April 3rd, 2026 Update
Hello Seniors and Senior Parents,
I hope you are gearing up for a fabulous Spring Break... I know we all need a bit of rest before the final count-down! When we get back we have just 4 weeks of school left, so stay engaged and FINISH STRONG!!!
Below you will see some updates and some common questions that I am receiving as we get closer to Graduation. Please read all the way through and address your questions to the correct person listed.
Caps and Gowns were handed out last week. If you missed the pick-up day, please go by office 600 to get your senior package.
-
Please open the packaging and check the size - it should fall about mid-calf
-
DO NOT IRON the gown - hang it up now so the wrinkles fall out. If you have stubborn wrinkles, hang them in the bathroom with a hot shower running to steam them out.
-
Students should have received the following in their package: cap, gown, tassel and white spring senior t-shirt.
-
If anything seems wrong with your pieces or you have any questions, please email Kirsten.Baker@gcpsk12.org
URGENT!!! Record your name pronunciation in Marching Order
This step will ensure that your name is read correctly at Graduation. If you skip this opportunity, you are trusting AI to get it correct. I have heard some terrible interpretations of "simple" names, so don't skip this step!8 YES, we announce your full name including your middle name - it is one of the only times you will ever hear your full given name.
Students should go to their portal landing page and click on the "Marching Order" button to complete this step. Use this tutorial for details. Contact Kirsten.Baker@gcpsk12.org with questions.
Service Logs due FRIDAY, April 17th
To earn a Service Seal on the diploma, Seniors need to complete 100 hours of service in their 4 years of high school. This is NOT required for graduation. Students must submit their Service Logs through LogCycle to Mrs. Cornett in the Counseling Office by Friday, April 17th to earn that recognition. For more information, please go to the Counseling page on Community Service. See Mrs. Cornett in the Counseling office with questions.
Senior Walks at Elementary Schools
Each of our Elementary feeder schools invites our seniors to return in their graduation regalia to walk the halls indicating the completion of the full 13-year school project. HERE is the information from each of our schools on their dates, times, and directions.
Final Transcript Information from the Counseling Department
Final transcripts will be available on June 1st. North Gwinnett does not send final transcripts to colleges - that is your responsibility. Please go to this link for more details on ordering transcripts.
Parent Volunteers during Senior Activities
We will have several opportunities for parents to help out at events and activities for our seniors. The SignUpGenius will be released after spring break for Senior Field Day (May 19th), so save that date. We will also need parents to help decorate some of our hallways for senior week (May 4-8) - more details after Spring Break.

February 5th, 2026 Update
Hello Seniors and families of seniors!
It is February, which means graduation is right around the corner! We have finally been given county dates, so we can now update you on some important information. Please read the entire email and mark your calendars to make sure that you do not miss anything.
Graduation
-
Graduation for North Gwinnett seniors is Saturday, May 23rd, at 8:30am at Gas South Arena.
-
All students graduating should arrive at the arena at 6:30am. This is crucial for timing to ensure that all students are in the correct order before the procession begins.
-
More information will follow as we get closer to the date regarding parking, timing for guests, etc.
Graduation Practice with Senior Lunch & Field Day - MARK YOUR CALENDAR NOW!!!!!
-
MANDATORY Graduation practice will be at 8:30am on Tuesday, May 19th at North Gwinnett High School commons
-
Parking for this day is VERY TIGHT - please plan on carpooling and leave plenty of time to park. We will keep the senior lot open, but all of you WILL NOT FIT in that space!!
-
This is MANDATORY for all graduating seniors. Students should plan to arrive 10 minutes early in order to locate their seat, so we can begin promptly at 8:30am.
-
Students will receive their 10 graduation tickets and parking pass for Gas South Arena at this time.
-
Following Graduation Practice, we will have Senior Lunch and Field Day (11ish - 1pm) - a time for our seniors to be together, have some "good old fashioned" fun and celebrate this milestone together. More info to come on this event... but plan to attend!
-
We will be asking for parent volunteers for Lunch and Field Day - more information to come later this semester on that opportunity.
Senior Week and Honors Events - we will send you more details once all plans are finalized. Mark these dates for now....
-
Senior Week will be May 4th - May 8th - The last week of school for our seniors will include theme/dress up days and events to celebrate the end of this 13-year project!

-
Monday, May 18th - Honors Night (honor graduates, cords and awards from individual organization) - individual invitations will be sent
Senior Final Exams
-
May 8th will be the last day of classes for seniors. Because graduation is immediately after school ends for Gwinnett County schools, the seniors’ final exams will be moved up to ensure we get them all completed.
-
Senior Final Exams - May 11th - 13th (1st-3rd periods in the Commons)
-
Monday 11th - Language Arts, World Languages, Career and Technical Arts Education
-
Tuesday 12th - Math, Social Studies
-
Wednesday13th - Science, Fine Arts, Performing Arts, PE/Health

-
AP Exams are May 4th - 15th - If seniors are taking those exams, it is critical that they will need to STAY ENGAGED with our teachers. Many will be offering study sessions during their class times after our seniors are "officially done with classes" to continue to support their preparation. Your AP Exam takes priority over a final - if you have a conflict, plan on taking your final exam on the make-up day.
-
If your student is exempting finals, then they will be officially finished with classes on May 8th.

September 16th, 2025 Update
Good Afternoon, Seniors and Senior Parents/Guardians.
Can you believe we are already 6 weeks into your senior year?! This year, time will fly faster than you could ever imagine!! Here are a few updates and frequently asked questions I've been receiving from seniors and parents of seniors:
-
GRADUATION
We have not yet been given our Graduation date and time. As soon as that gets set by the county, we will lock in all of our senior dates and share those with you, so you can add them to your calendar. Last year we did not receive the date until December.
-
SENIOR CLASS DUES
Senior Class Dues are open in MyPaymentsPlus. The $175 senior dues pay for all the graduation fees for the arena, parking, printing, diplomas, regalia, as well as senior events, t-shirts, etc.
This year IF YOU PAID FOR JUNIOR DUES LAST YEAR, then it will also include one free ticket to Prom for your senior.
It DOES NOT include Homecoming - those tickets will be on GoFan later this month.
If you pay by September 30, 2025 then you will receive a bonus fall shirt.
Log-In to MyPayments Plus. On the left side of the screen, choose the EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES button. The easiest way to find the activity is to use the SEARCH feature on the EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES page...simply type in the name of the activity (SENIOR), and the activity will appear on screen. If you do not find the event listed, it is likely you have already paid.
**Questions about dues should be sent to Kirsten.Baker@gcpsk12.org.
-
SENIOR WEBSITE
The Senior Class Webpage on our NGHS website has been updated and posted. We suggest you bookmark this page and check back frequently for new information. We have posted a senior checklist that could be helpful in completing some of the important tasks this year.
-
YEARBOOK UPDATE
Senior yearbook pictures must be taken at a Cady Studio. Please click the link to schedule your session: https://home.cady.com/ . If you are only interested in the yearbook package that includes a formal, a casual and a cap/gown photo, book the simple session for only $29. The deadline for senior pictures to be included in the yearbook is November 1, 2025. Any pictures taken after that date will NOT be included in the yearbook.
Senior yearbook ads can be created and purchased for your senior at www.yearbookordercenter.com with school code 1684. The deadline to submit those ads is also November 1, 2025.
Questions about Yearbook should be sent to Colleen.Longe@gcpsk12.org

Prom FAQ
When is Prom 2026? Prom 2025 will be Saturday, May 2 from 8-11 pm at the Gas South District in Duluth.
I really want to come to the Prom, but I can't afford it. What should I do? At NGHS, we want everyone to be able to enjoy the Prom. Contact your guidance counselor ASAP to discuss some options.
I am technically classified as a Sophomore, but I earned enough credit for Junior status after Fall Semester, and I will graduate at the end of next year. Can I come to the Prom? Yes. Just have your guidance counselor e-mail Mrs. Holcombe and Dr. Grodzicki to let them know of your change in status.
Do I have to pay more if my date doesn't go to NGHS? Date tickets are determined by the date they are purchased. Tickets purchased in March are $75, and tickets purchased in April are $100.
Do I have to pay more if my date is a freshman or sophomore at NGHS? You do not. Date tickets are determined by the date they are purchased. Tickets purchased in March are $75, and tickets purchased in April are $100.
Is it OK to come to the Prom solo? Yes! In 2025, 75% of the people who purchased tickets did so with groups of friends instead of a specific date.
Is there a dress code for the Prom? Yes. This is a formal event, and the attire should reflect that formality.
Will there be chaperones at the Prom? Absolutely. There is a very visible adult presence at the Prom. In 2025, this included the following: 3 uniformed Gwinnett Police Officers, 12 School Resource Officers, 30 adult chaperones, 9 NGHS administrators, and over 120 NGHS teachers/staff.
Will dinner be available at the Prom? Dinner will not be served; however, dessert and beverages will be provided.
I'm picking my child up after the Prom. What time should I be there? The prom is over at 11:00 pm. Please arrive no later than 11:00 pm.
Does North Gwinnett sponsor any sort of after-prom function? No. Many families host after-parties for their students, but NGHS does not sponsor an after-party.
When is next year's Prom? Mark your calendars! Next year’s prom is scheduled for May 8, 2027.
Other Questions: Please feel free to e-mail Mrs. Holcombe or Dr. Grodzicki, the Junior Class Sponsors, with any additional questions you may have at taylor.holcombe@gcpsk12.org or colette.grodzicki@gcpsk12.org.
Senior Class Dues
-
Senior Class Dues are paid on MyPaymentsPlus.

Log-In to MyPayments Plus. On the left side of the screen, choose the EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES button. The easiest way to find the activity is to use the SEARCH feature on the EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES page...simply type in the name of the activity (SENIOR), and the activity will appear on-screen. If you do not find the event listed, it is likely you have already paid.
-
-
Senior Class Dues are $175. Senior class dues cover all the graduation ceremony fees, regalia, printing, parking, cap and gown, diploma, senior class t-shirt, and senior week events.
-
BONUS: this year it also includes one FREE ticket to Prom if you paid Junior Dues last year. Homecoming Dance tickets are NOT included.
-
When you pay the fee, we collect sizes for your student's class t-shirt and cap and gown.
-
If you need assistance with Senior Class Dues, please contact Kirsten Baker at Kirsten.Baker@gcpsk12.org
SAT & ACT
- This is the year to start getting serious about these tests. I always suggest that students take each test at least once during their JUNIOR YEAR.
- Students register for the SAT using their COLLEGE BOARD ACCOUNT on www.collegeboard.org. Students register for the ACT using the following website: www.act.org.
- Any questions or concerns should be addressed to your student's Guidance Counselor.
