Junior Class

• We'll have a JUNIOR CLASS MEETING on Wednesday, August 19 in the commons during Bulldog Period. It's at this meeting, you'll learn everything there is to know about Class Rings and Letter Jackets. 
• Our Provider, Scholastic Images, will be on campus during lunch on the following dates: August 19, August 27, October 8, November 19, January 8, and February 18.

The College Board

• Register for the SAT, log in to the SAT Prep Course, take practice SATs, send test scores to colleges, etc.

College Planning for 11th Grade

• Sponsored by the College Board, this site will walk you through your final two years of high school as you get ready for college

Junior Dues 

• Use this site (MyPaymentsPlus) to pay Junior Dues.

• Junior Dues are $30 this year, and this fee entitles you to the following:  
  • The official Junior Class T-Shirt.  
  • Complimentary admission to Leadership Development courses all year.
• Junior dues are paid on MY PAYMENTS PLUS. Search for "NGHS JUNIOR DUES" on the main landing page to access. 

• You will receive information from your guidance counselor(s) throughout the school year on filling out college applications, updating your Naviance profile, and asking your teachers for Letters of Recommendation. 

• Be thinking about what to include in your Resume/CV, as well as what teachers you’d like to ask for Letters of Recommendation - each teacher has different expectations, so the sooner you ask, the better!

• Prom will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2027 from 8pm-11pm at the Forsyth Conference Center in Cumming. 
• Tickets will be sold on GoFan starting in mid-February.

Here’s everything you need to know for Prom 2027:

Where: The Forsyth Conference Center

When: Saturday, April 17, 2027, from 8 pm-11 pm

Tickets: Tickets will be sold exclusively on the GOFAN app. Tickets will not be sold at the door. 

Cost: 

• February 15-March 14 tickets will cost $75 each 
• March 15-April 16 tickets will cost $100 each
• Guest Tickets:
  • Each student will be allowed to purchase one ticket for a guest. The ticket must be assigned to a specific person when they are purchased. If the guest goes to North, their ticket will be delivered to them via GOFAN. If the guest does not attend North, they will need to complete a form in order to receive a ticket. More information will be provided when tickets go on sale. The price will be determined by the purchase date.

Please note that tickets are assigned to individual students...tickets are NON-TRANSFERABLE and NON-REFUNDABLE.  Do not show up at Prom with a ticket purchased for someone else. 

On Prom Night:  

• Bring your GOFAN Ticket on your device and your student ID (the StudentVue app on your phone will work).  
• Enter the parking lot and park anywhere you like.  
• Students using limos, buses, or students being dropped off/picked up will be able to use the round-about in front of the main entrance.  
• Heavy hors d'oeuvres and desserts will be available throughout the evening.   
• Remember, all school rules apply to this off-campus event. 
• Finally, as it is for all school events, once you check in, you can't leave and return.

When is Prom 2027?  Prom 2027 will be Saturday, April 17 from 8-11 pm at the Forsyth Conference Center in Cumming.  

I really want to come to the Prom, but I can't afford it. What should I do? At NGHS, we want everyone to be able to enjoy the Prom. Contact your guidance counselor ASAP to discuss some options.

I am technically classified as a Sophomore, but I earned enough credit for Junior status after Fall Semester, and I will graduate at the end of next year. Can I come to the Prom? Yes. Just have your guidance counselor e-mail Dr. Grodzicki to let her know of your change in status. 

Do I have to pay more if my date doesn't go to NGHS? Date tickets are determined by the date they are purchased. Tickets purchased from February 15-March 14 are $75, and tickets purchased from March 15-April 16 are $100.

Is it OK to come to the Prom solo? Yes! In 2027, 75% of the people who purchased tickets did so with groups of friends instead of a specific date.

Is there a dress code for the Prom? Yes. This is a formal event, and the attire should reflect that formality.

Will there be chaperones at the Prom? Absolutely. There is a very visible adult presence at the Prom. In 2026, this included the following: 3 uniformed Gwinnett Police Officers, 12 School Resource Officers, 30 adult chaperones, 9 NGHS administrators, and over 120 NGHS teachers/staff.

Will dinner be available at the Prom? Dinner will not be served; however, hors d'oeuvres, dessert and beverages will be provided. 

I'm picking my child up after the Prom. What time should I be there? The prom is over at 11:00 pm. Please arrive no later than 11:00 pm.

Does North Gwinnett sponsor any sort of after-prom function? No. Many families host after-parties for their students, but NGHS does not sponsor an after-party.

When is next year's Prom? Next year’s prom is not yet scheduled.

• This is the year to start getting serious about these tests. We always suggest that students take each test at least once during their JUNIOR YEAR. 
  • Students register for the SAT using their COLLEGE BOARD ACCOUNT on www.collegeboard.org.  
    • Students will be given a complimentary SAT Administration at NGHS in March. These scores can be used for college admission.
  • Students register for the ACT using the following website:  www.act.org.
