College Preparation

Grade reporting on Big Ideas provides students with clear feedback regarding their progress of the content and which areas to focus.  Learning to track their learning and advocate for support will help as students transition to post-secondary options where students are young adults, responsible for their own learning and progress.  Consistently focusing on student learning throughout the semester allows students to understand the benefit of continued practice for improvement and strategies necessary to retain information.

All courses will finish with a numerical grade which will be used to create the student’s GPA.  Students will benefit from multiple opportunities to demonstrate mastery as teachers use the most frequent and most recent evaluation methods to finalize student grades.  Focusing on learning will impact student performance on Big Ideas to positively impact their GPA.  Course grades converted to GPA will continue to allow students to qualify for HOPE, Zell, and other scholarship opportunities.  Admission offices will receive transcripts with numerical grades for courses and their ultimate GPA conversion.
